Eating God's Way...and more
A friend mentioned a book about eating a healthy diet to cure cancer and how the medical field usually doesn't embrace this as an important part of a cure. Well, there's more to it then that. These types of books have been available for decades and the thinking has most likely been around since the beginning of our existence. I studied all about it after about the time my Dad died of cancer and have been incorporating it into my life. I think maybe I always knew the truth and did some things earlier to be healthy, but went away from all that and came back. It is not just a healthy diet alone that can prevent and possibly cure cancer, but a healthy diet along with exercise, a less-toxic environment (i.e. natural cleaning products, etc), low stress level, and a feeling of community that can prevent and cure cancer and other illnesses. I believe this type of prevention and healing is the way of the future for our civilization to survive with any sort of quality of life.
Some of the things I try to do are to eat as many vegetables as I can in whatever form I can, preferably raw, whole or juiced. I have no problem eating fruit, but try to get both my fruits and veggies from organic farmers. I only eat whole grains and not too much. I am trying to cut down on meats and eliminate them completely while making sure to get enough vitamin B12, checking my levels with an endocrinologist periodically. I get other protein in beans, nuts, and fish. I eat healthy fats in mainly organic olive oil. I am trying to cut down and eliminate dairy, getting my calcium from other sources like kale. I try for no processed foods, and no or little sugar. I don't drink alcohol and rarely drink caffeine drinks, so I usually drink spring water. I learned meditation from a Buddhist teacher. I did an at-home study for stress and anxiety. I am involved in my Christian church. I volunteer on a regular basis. I exercise 2-3 times a week with cardio, strength training, and yoga. I use mostly organic/natural cleaning products, and organic/natural makeup and other beauty products. I go on a technology-fast periodically and that, along with the other healthy things I have done, helps to clear my mind and focus on that still inner voice. I am still not where I want to be and am tweaking some of my habits. If I get off track, I just get right back on track and stay positive about it. I feel much better when I live in this manner.
